Who we are
Checkline is a retail brand operated by a company registered in the State of Florida, United States, at 100 Terminal Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315, USA. For anything in this policy you can reach us at support@shipluggage.shop or +1 909 532 5895. If you need the operating company's registered particulars for a formal notice, ask us and we will provide them.
For the purposes of the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation we are the data controller for the personal data described here. For the purposes of the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act we are the business that determines the purposes and means of processing.
What we collect
We collect only what an order, an enquiry or a working website actually requires. We do not buy personal data from data brokers, and we do not build profiles for advertising.
| Category | Examples | Why we hold it |
|---|---|---|
| Order details | Name, email, phone, delivery address, country, items ordered | To accept, fulfil and deliver your order, and to answer questions about it |
| Enquiry details | Name, email, optional phone, country, subject, message | To answer the message you sent us |
| Custom size request | Case dimensions, shell material, wheel arrangement, quantity, contact details | To tell you whether we can make what you asked for, and at what price |
| Email list | Email address, the date you subscribed | To send the fit notes you asked for, until you unsubscribe |
| Technical data | IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring page | To keep the site available, to detect abuse, and — only where you have consented — to measure how the site is used |
We do not receive or store your full card number, expiry date or security code. Card details are entered on the payment page operated by our payment provider and are handled under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard. All pages on this site are served over HTTPS.
Why we are allowed to hold it
- Performance of a contract: everything needed to take, fulfil and support an order you placed.
- Legitimate interests: answering enquiries, preventing fraud and abuse, and keeping records of what we sold and to whom. We have balanced these against your interests and consider them proportionate.
- Consent: analytics and marketing cookies, and the email list. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting anything we did before you withdrew it.
- Legal obligation: tax, accounting and consumer protection records we are required to keep.
International transfers
We operate from the United States, so data you send us is processed there. Where personal data moves out of the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area we rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, together with the additional safeguards those instruments require.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries, custom size requests and incomplete orders: deleted no later than 24 months after the last contact.
- Completed orders: kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires, then deleted.
- Email list: kept until you unsubscribe, and deleted promptly after that.
- Analytics data: kept for 14 months in aggregate form.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us and we will answer within 30 days, or within 45 days if you are in California and we tell you we need the extra time.
If the GDPR applies to you, you also have the right to restrict or object to processing, the right to data portability, and the right to complain to your national supervisory authority.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what we collect and why, the right to delete, the right to correct, the right to limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not collect any), and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of them. You may use an authorised agent, and we will verify the request before we act on it.
We honour the Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of sale and sharing for that browser, and we do not set analytics or marketing cookies for that session.
Children
This shop is not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13, and no one under 13 may place an order or subscribe. Customers aged 13 to 17 may order only with the consent of a parent or guardian, and we ask for a guardian's email address at checkout in that case. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS end to end. Access to order data is limited to the people who need it to fulfil and support orders. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise, but if a breach ever affects your rights we will notify you and the relevant regulator within the time the law allows.
Changes and contact
We will update the effective date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes, and we will tell subscribers by email if the change is material. Questions, requests and complaints: support@shipluggage.shop, or +1 909 532 5895, or by post to 100 Terminal Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33315, USA.
