Fitted by you, to your case, following the steps below. A part that comes loose, or damage caused by fitting a part incorrectly, is not a product fault.

How it is built

Eight moulded silicone corner guards, the same 3 mm wall as the set of four, enough to cover every corner of the case rather than only the ones that touch the ground when it is upright.

Suits these shells

Hard shell, polycarbonate
Flexes under load and springs back. Takes surface scuffing more than cracking.
Hard shell, ABS
Stiffer and more brittle than polycarbonate. Corners are the usual failure point.
Aluminium frame
A full cover fits badly over the frame lip. Corner and edge guards suit these better.

Where those figures come from

Corner impact test
Free fall from 1.0 m onto a rigid steel plate, case loaded to 15 kg, impact on the lower shell corner, five repeats per sample, three samples, conducted at 23 °C.

Fitting

Three steps, no tools.

  1. 01Clean and dry the area of the case the part sits on. Room temperature, indoors.
  2. 02Line the part up dry first and check the fit before you commit any adhesive.
  3. 03Seat it, press it home along its full contact area, and leave it 24 hours before the case is handled.
