How it is built

A one-piece stretch cover in 240 gsm elasticated polyester with an elastic hem top and bottom and cut-outs at the wheels and the telescopic handle. It goes on over the case in one motion and holds by tension alone, with no straps or fasteners to adjust.

Suits these shells

Hard shell, polycarbonate: Flexes under load and springs back. Takes surface scuffing more than cracking.
Hard shell, ABS: Stiffer and more brittle than polycarbonate. Corners are the usual failure point.
Soft side, fabric: Absorbs impact but scuffs and tears. Zippers and handles take the strain.

Surface abrasion: Rotary abrasion on the fabric face under a 9 kPa load, assessed at 5,000 cycles against an unabraded control from the same roll, three samples.
Water resistance: Fabric face tested under a spray of water for 2 minutes at 23 °C, then examined for through-wetting. Seams and zipper openings are not sealed and are not covered by this test.
