How it is built

A stretch cover with a 70 cm two-way zipper running down one side. The flap folds back far enough to open the case fully while the cover stays mounted, then closes again without refitting anything.

Suits these shells

Hard shell, polycarbonate
Flexes under load and springs back. Takes surface scuffing more than cracking.
Hard shell, ABS
Stiffer and more brittle than polycarbonate. Corners are the usual failure point.
Soft side, fabric
Absorbs impact but scuffs and tears. Zippers and handles take the strain.
